Success is in the eye of those who wear orange trainers!

Ding, ding, ding!! As you may have guessed from the title, I am now the proud owner of orange Nike 4.0 trainers. The reason - I have successfully smashed my first goal and earned my first treat of the year. I am so freakin' excited to wear these bad boys
- in the store they didn't look anywhere near as bright as they did when I took them for a test run as soon as I got home, but it's the brighter the better as far as I'm concerned.

Now some discerning readers may have noticed I initially was holding out for Nike 5.0's but alas, my size has sold out and I went out with the purpose to buy trainers - I was not coming home empty handed! Plus when I saw these, I realised I hadn't really seen them around very much, which means I won't be getting umpteen trainer twins in the gym - I was sold!

When it comes to shopping for trainers, there is one place that I always head to - Nike Town on Oxford Circus. I love that place, walking in there is enough to make me want to lace up and get going. The perfect place to get inspired. Now I'm not going to lie, it probably took me an hour to decide on these trainers.

They weren't on the main display and my eyes were initially drawn to the orange and illumines yellow 5.0's.

Like I say, they only had mini sizes and as a UK 7, I was right outta luck. But then the girl who was helping me brought out these little beauties - the best thing about them - they are a UK 6.5. I had to downsize for these trainers! Happy days!

Well I say trainers, but they are the most weightless, comfortable shoes I've ever worn. They have some really quirky characteristics too, they don't really have a full tongue, they have a partially attached one, and they have this almost jumper like design. They are lined and it means they fit like socks essentially. Hello very happy feet!

So, to take advantage of the fist warm day of Spring, I bounded out the house eager to put them to the test. I did shuttle sprints, burpees, planks and jumping jacks and despite all this my feet felt brilliant. They felt like they were tucked up in my cosiest, fluffiest socks. Even my calf felt less strained than it had in a long time which must be a good sign.

Now it's on to the next one! I'm just about to enter week 6 of my 14 week 'get in the best shape of your life' challenge and it is time to step it up a gear and with my bright orange side kicks - I'm aiming for at least a few more pounds shed and a more toned tush and thighs. Watch this space! My next treat - a cheat day where I can indulge in whatever I want for a whole meal.

I'm currently craving a nice spicy bowl of creamy pasta with really nice ciabatta bread….get in my tummy!
