Pancakes and eggs, West Hampstead

West Hampstead is a great place to amble around on a weekend, or even a weekday if you're so inclined. So on Saturday, Pooch and I went for a stroll around the local farmers market and ducked out of the cold to get some brunch.

Apparently the farmers market is on every week, but I'm not sure if it's always the same stalls; either way it was a great little spot and I picked up a delicious piece of beef for a roast on Sunday.

After our meat, cheese and chutney purchases we headed off in search of a spot of brunch and came across Mamacita. It doesn't look like much from the outside, but you should definitely not judge a restaurant by it's outdoors - you should judge it from it's menu, and this menu was good.

I didn't take a picture of the back of the menu but I should also say that this place also does bottomless Mamosas. If it hadn't have been so cold I may have just been swayed, but instead I went for a steaming cup of tea and Pooch had a Hibiscus something or other, complete with flower.

Pooch ordered the Berry Pancake Stack, which came with a 20 minute time warning and I ordered the Huevos Mexicana.

I never really consider pancakes for breakfast, and after trying some of Pooch's I am totally converted. They were delicious, light, fluffy and the berries just finished it off, despite my thinking I wouldn't like the berries in it.

Mine was more of a Spanish baked egg skillet and it was delicious. The freshly cooked salsa and avocado was amazing and the fresh tortilla on the side, just finished it off perfectly.

That being said, I would highly recommend the pancakes here, they were amazing and I'm already planning another visit back so I can indulge myself. Well worth the 20 minute wait!

Pancakes verses eggs, which would you choose?
