28 Things I've Learnt About Myself In The Last 28 Years

You may have seen that it was my birthday recently and one of my friends jokingly asked me to name 28 things I'd learnt about myself now I was 28 - its actually harder than it seems to think about what you know about yourself - but here goes:

1.Spending time with friends and family is the best antidote for stress

2.Working hard is all well and good but you need to play hard too, otherwise everything becomes too serious and nobody liked a serious Nicki!

3.Spending time on my own can actually be a good thing and allows me to get a sense of perspective

4.I'd take quality over quantity any day of the week, in anything, holidays, relationships, shoes, experiences

5.I always feel more attractive in heels - whether high or kitten, that extra lift, lifts my mood

6.Not to bury my head in the sand when it comes to finances - I built up quite a bit of debt that way, instead knowing what you owe and what's actually yours leaves you feeling more in control

7.I'm a morning person, so getting up early to get to the gym and make a start on my day suits me best, at night I'm a home bird

8.Working out is essential to me being happy. I need it to release my tensions and aggressions and get a better body as a result

9.I'm a lightweight when it comes to alcohol. I don't need much of it to feel drunk and once I've hit my limit there is no turning back

10.In the same vein - Sambuca is not my friend - it makes me do silly things and should be avoided at all costs

11.I have a huge sweet tooth which often leaves me with eyes bigger than my belly and with an awful sugar headache later

12.When it comes to food, I don't have a limit - more is more and keep it coming

13.There's no point in wasting your time trying to be something you're not. Be true to yourself and you'll feel far better with what you get in return.

14.I'm pretty good at giving second chances but there is a duty on them to prove they can be trusted again

15.Red is not my colour - it does not suit me and makes my face look like a beetroot, orange on the other hand is great…go figure

16.I spend more money on food and going out to dinner than I do anything else on a monthly basis

17.I get uncontrollable cravings for red meat and won't be satisfied until I've had it

18.Unless I'm prepared for it, I get grumpy when I'm wet or cold

19.I'm quite a determined person, when I say I'll do something, I'll do it - I rarely leave things unfinished

20.Tardiness gets on my tits

21.I'm not scared of getting old like I thought I would be, I'm actually quite happy embracing it

22.Watching a whole series on Netflix with a tub of ice-cream is allowed - nobody has to know

23.I like my independence and going out on my own to try and make things happen

24.One of my pet peeves is people asking or telling me to do stuff I was already going to do, it may be irrational but it makes me feel foolish

25.I will never be able to do accents, they all blur into one mess of a language rather than anything distinct

26.Moving to London is one of the best things I did and I wouldn't change it, the wages to living ratio may suck, but having your friends and all the experiences on your doorstep can't be beaten

27.I enjoy making silly faces and taking the piss to smiling politely and being nice all the time

28.Try as I might, I just can't whim and see how things go, I need to make a plan and stick to it

Funny what you're forced to admit to yourself when put on the spot. A bit of a different post for me but I quite enjoyed it.
