A Cultural Performance In France

A trip to France was just what the doctor ordered recently and rather than just spend our time soaking up the sun (although we did do a lot of that) we managed to explore a lot of the local Gasques area and take in a couple of theatre performances too.

So, what you waiting for, hop in, there's a lot to see....

We watched a re-imagined performance of Henry V in a town called Lauzerte which was put on by UK theatre company Antic Disposition, who travel around small French towns putting on performances.

Pics weren't allowed during the show, but it was awesome, with limited props you needed your imagination but the cast were brilliant!

It goes without saying we drank a lot and ate delicious food.

And then we finished off the week with a visit to Valence D'Agen Au Fil De L'eau - a production put on by the local townsfolk to show the history of the town. I didn't know quite what to expect, but it totally blew my mind.

They even let us play with their toys before the show began!

Then it was time for the main event itself. To provide some context, it's set along the canal, and tells the story of three boys growing up and their lives during the first and second world war. Despite not being able to understand the language it was a simple story to follow and the production was great!

There is actually too much for one post, so I'm going to put up another mid-week - so check back on Wednesday to see the beauty of another local town. For now this is where I let you go though, thanks for stopping by!
