Their ethos is simple, good quality Scottish beef, done well. Well, well-done I should say, no burger should be well done, medium rare is apparently the perfect way to enjoy your burger.
I went for the Cabana burger, Mexican themed with sour cream, salsa and guacamole on the side, jalapenos and cheese on top, along with their special burger mayonnaise. With a side of gherkins it was delicious.
I'm not just saying that either; the great thing about these burgers is that you can taste the flavour of the meat. Their steak burgers are what they pride themselves on and it works. Dan mentioned they may over-salt the beef a little bit, and I agree maybe a tad, but the fact they don't drip grease when you bite into them and that the flavour stays within the burger, wins hands down. Topped off with the guac, salsa, sour cream and jalapenos, it was one of the best burgers I've had in ages.
Dan, as usual likes to let the meat speak for itself and went for a plain burger with a side of fries.
And we both washed it down with a pair of shakes; Strawberry for me and Oreo and Nutella for Dan. It was a hard decision to see which flavour was best....
...and it was left inconclusive but personally strawberry wins every time. The best thing about these shakes is that they didn't feel too heavy either. Don't ask me how a milkshake can feel light and refreshing, but it can at Hache!
